Key Takeaways
The surge in bullish sentiment is impossible to ignore. Santiment analyst Brian Quinlivan reported that there are currently 1.51 bullish Bitcoin mentions for every bearish one, the most optimistic ratio seen in over three weeks.

This bullish data was sourced from major social platforms such as X, Reddit, Telegram, 4chan, BitcoinTalk, and Farcaster.
While a positive outlook might seem encouraging, Quinlivan cautioned that such spikes in retail enthusiasm have historically been followed by price pullbacks.
Prices tend to move in the opposite direction of the crowd’s expectations, Quinlivan emphasized. Retail traders often fall into the trap of emotional decisions.
As of now, Bitcoin is trading around $108,770, up 2.84% over the last seven days, based on CoinMarketCap data. Bitcoin even hit a local high of $109,595 recently before sliding back to $107,681, further validating Santiment’s warning.

We saw clear signs that retail was buying into the rising momentum, Quinlivan added.
Despite the cautious tone, Quinlivan still believes Bitcoin is on a long-term bullish path. He suggested a “mild pullback” is possible before a break past its all-time high of $111,970, last reached on May 22nd.
Another factor to watch is the activity of Bitcoin whale wallets, addresses holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC. These entities have largely been inactive lately, which may indicate growing market caution.
These wallets have been suspiciously flat, noted Quinlivan. In fact, whales dumped 14,140 BTC over the last week alone.
Historically, when whale wallets accumulate, the flagship crypto’s price tends to rise. On the other hand, when they sell or pause accumulation, it often signals an upcoming correction across the broader crypto market.
Still, Quinlivan stressed that the overall trajectory remains positive, with six months of consistent whale and shark accumulation reinforcing the longer-term bullish case.
Many traders are bullish, but past spikes in optimism have preceded short-term price corrections. A mild pullback may occur before Bitcoin attempts to break its all-time high of $111,970.
Recent data shows that whales have reduced their holdings by over 14,000 BTC in the past week. This could suggest short-term caution, though the long-term trend still points toward accumulation.
The release of the Federal Reserve minutes and any major U.S. trade policies — such as the delayed tariff deadline — could create volatility in crypto markets.
