Key Takeaways
One of the strongest signals behind the current rally is the fact that Bitcoin held on exchanges and over-the-counter (OTC) desks is at an all-time low. With fewer coins available to be sold, even small spikes in demand can push prices higher.

Bitcoin Price Analysis

Bitcoin recently broke a new all-time high of $122,884 and has been trading just under that, at around $117,804, according to CoinMarketCap.
According to Matt Mena, crypto research strategist at 21Shares, Bitcoin is currently experiencing a structural imbalance, one that strongly favors the bulls:
“The structural imbalance between surging demand and a rapidly vanishing supply base makes a prolonged correction increasingly unlikely.”
While corrections are always a possibility in volatile markets like crypto, the underlying data shows a market that is maturing, with long-term investors and institutions playing a larger role in pricing behavior.
Crypto exchange Bitfinex noted that a new wave of buyers has entered the market, investors who are less concerned about short-term volatility and more focused on long-term accumulation.
These buyers are often referred to as “price-agnostic,” meaning they continue to buy regardless of whether the market is at a local high or low.
André Dragosch, head of research at Bitwise, added an interesting wrinkle to the Bitcoin price prediction discussion:
“Bitcoin is at new all-time highs, but retail is almost nowhere to be found.”
Despite record highs, Google search interest for “Bitcoin” remains low, signaling that retail interest hasn’t yet caught up to the market move.
Historically, retail euphoria tends to follow institutional accumulation, meaning there could still be room for further upside.
Despite summer usually being a lackluster season for crypto markets, Bitcoin is breaking all the rules this year. What’s truly remarkable is that Bitcoin is setting new all-time highs during the most illiquid, seasonally weak part of the year.

Bitcoin And Ethereum’s Quarterly Returns

According to CoinGlass, Q3 has historically been Bitcoin’s worst-performing quarter, averaging just a 6.32% return since 2013. Yet here we are, watching Bitcoin post double-digit gains with more room to run.
While short-term pullbacks are always possible, analysts at 21Shares believe a prolonged correction is unlikely due to tight supply and strong institutional demand.
Summer is usually a low-volume period, but this cycle has seen increased institutional interest and low exchange balances, which have supported upward momentum.
Not yet. Most of the buying pressure appears to be coming from institutions and ETFs. Google search trends suggest that retail investors have not fully returned to the market.
Yes. If the Federal Reserve delays rate cuts or introduces hawkish policies, Bitcoin, like other risk assets, could face downward pressure.
