CZ Open To Creating A Meme Coin
The conversation began when a user on X (formerly Twitter) asked him if he had a dog, and he confirmed it, clarifying it was a Belgian Malinois, not a Shiba Inu.
As the crypto community eagerly asked for the dog’s name and picture, the former Binance CEO questioned how meme coins are created, asking if sharing a dog’s image would lead to people launching coins. After receiving answers, he hinted that he might consider creating a meme token, saying he’d think about it.

Traders quickly responded by aggressively buying BNB, pushing its price up by over 20%. Meanwhile, meme coins like Binance Dog (CZDOG) were launched by the community, with CZDOG skyrocketing 109%, reaching an $8 billion market cap in hours. Despite previous reservations about meme coins, CZ acknowledged that he has never bought them but didn’t rule out creating one.
Regardless, CZ’s playful engagement has reignited interest in meme coins, though concerns about potential scams have been raised. DeFi figure Andre Cronje advised CZ to ensure any launch is done fairly to protect investors.
