The warning follows reports that the Trump administration is offering incentives to countries that reduce imports from China. Beijing urged partners to stand for “fairness and justice” in trade and resist “unilateral bullying.”
A spokesperson added, “Appeasement will not bring peace, and compromise will not be respected.”
China Expands To Southeast Asia
China has already imposed tariffs of up to 125% on U.S. goods, restricted key mineral exports, and blacklisted some smaller American firms. Despite this, President Trump claimed last week that a trade deal could happen within a month.
Meanwhile, President Xi Jinping toured Southeast Asia, promoting unity against protectionist policies. China continues expanding trade in the region, now its largest bloc partner, though the U.S. remains its top individual trade partner.
China also appointed Li Chenggang as its new top trade negotiator and filed a WTO complaint over the latest round of U.S. tariffs.
