The United States Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E), led by Elon Musk, has saved U.S. taxpayers $36.7 billion so far, sparking discussions by key players like Coinbase on how the country can have greater government transparency under the new Trump administration.

On January 9th, Musk outlined his cost-cutting vision, focusing on fiscal responsibility. The Tesla CEO aims to cut U.S. government spending by $2 trillion. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong praised the progress on social media, urging further transparency.
D.O.G.E also exposed a $100 billion annual spending loophole, with $50 billion suspected to be fraudulent. In response, both D.O.G.E and the U.S. Treasury are introducing stricter auditing and improving payment categorization to prevent future fraud.

Focusing On Key Areas
D.O.G.E believes that the United States should focus more on preventing fraud, improving audits, and providing citizens with real-time insight into government spending.
Since its launch in January, D.O.G.E has made significant savings, with the program aiming to streamline government operations and reduce inefficiencies. Elon Musk said he wants to complete the project by July 4th, 2026, aligning with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
