Pump.fun flips Rumble, according to cofounder Alon Cohen, though independent verification is lacking.
The platform has rebounded from its 2024 controversies with a stronger, safer live-streaming infrastructure.
Cohen is marketing Pump.fun as a radical Web3 alternative to Twitch and Kick.
Critics worry the token-based system encourages unsustainable volatility and short-term gains.
Regardless of the controversy, Pump.fun is rapidly gaining traction, especially among younger creators.
Pump.fun originally launched its live-streaming integration in 2024 to combine token launches with creator content.
However, the experiment turned sour as abusive streams and self-harm stunts made headlines. Usurpingly then, the platform quickly suspended the feature.
In early 2025, the company began a phased reintroduction, starting with a small group of users under tighter safety guidelines.
The full rollout followed months later, and since then, Pump.fun has aggressively marketed its streaming tools as a revolutionary alternative to Twitch, Kick, and YouTube.
In a series of posts on X, Alon Cohen laid out why he believes Pump.fun flips Rumble and could pose a threat to the broader industry.

Instant creator fees: No waiting for monthly payouts
100x earnings potential: Compared to traditional platforms
Token-powered viewer support: Incentivized, real-time engagement
Free clipping on X: Easy content repurposing
24/7 support: Dedicated team backing creators
Cohen argues that legacy platforms have failed Gen Z creators, citing lack of monetization options and increasing censorship. He said:
“Millions of the most influential people among Gen Z are begging for a better system.”
Data from StreamCharts shows Rumble averaging:
251 concurrent live channels
Over 56,000 concurrent viewers
If Pump.fun has indeed flipped Rumble, it must have exceeded that benchmark. However, no public analytics currently verify the claim, leaving Cohen’s announcement open to interpretation.
The timing of the claim aligns with a surge in Pump.fun’s token value, which briefly crossed $3 billion in market cap.
While Pump.fun’s rise has impressed many, some critics argue that its token-driven incentives are unsustainable.
Bob Bodily, founder of Bitcoin-based memecoin launchpad Odin.fun, raised some serious concerns. He believes the platform encourages “pump-and-dump” behavior rather than stable growth.

Volatility > Stability: High reward but high risk
Short-termism: Encourages hype over quality
Token fatigue: Viewers and creators may burn out
Despite this, creators continue to flock to Pump.fun, enticed by immediate financial upside and viral mechanics.
There’s no third-party data to conclusively prove it, but Alon Cohen claims Pump.fun now surpasses Rumble in average concurrent live streams.
Pump.fun integrates tokenomics directly into streaming, offering instant payouts, token support from fans, and monetization from day one.
The platform faced backlash over unsafe and abusive content, including dangerous stunts tied to token launches. It was temporarily shut down and relaunched with stricter controls in 2025.
The platform has added more moderation tools and safety measures, but its volatile token model continues to draw scrutiny.
