On Wednesday, the Tokyo-listed company revealed that it acquired 160 BTC for approximately $13.3 million, at an average price of $83,264 per BTC.

This purchase brings Metaplanet’s total Bitcoin holdings to 4,206 BTC, valued at around $359.8 million, as reported by CEO Simon Gerovich. At current market prices, those 4,206 BTC are worth approximately $356.2 million.
9th Biggest Bitcoin Holder
Metaplanet has been steadily accumulating Bitcoin since it unveiled its crypto strategy in April 2024. With its total holdings of 4,206 BTC, it ranks as the ninth-largest publicly traded corporate holder of Bitcoin globally and the largest in Asia.
The company aims to hold 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025 and expand its reserves to 21,000 BTC by the close of 2026. However, Metaplanet’s stock dipped 0.98% during the morning trading session on Wednesday in Japan.
